"Max": Quilt Art by Rebekka Seigel

This small quilt is based on a photograph of my son, Max, and his bass trombone. I loved the composition of the photo emphasizing the importance of the instrument in the photo and in his life. I worked this image in a paper collage before hand appliquéing this quilt because my son was experiencing an illness that was of great concern to me. This quilt and the paper collage were unconscious ways that I was working through my own anxiety about his health crisis.
